“Valkyrie” Finally Has A Release Date, Tom Cruise Is Happy
Posted in Actor, Bryan Singer, Germany, Kenneth Branagh, Second World War, Tom Cruise, Valkyrie, accent, film release on 3 October 2008

Tom Cruise was spotted out and about in New York in the blustery weather, looking quite pleased with himself. No doubt the actor was happy to learn that the film “Valkyrie” had finally been given a firm release date. The film features Cruise playing a German officer, Claus von Stauffenberg, who was part of the conspiracy to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944. The film has suffered repeated setbacks and at one point it was expected to be released in 2009, but is now scheduled to open on December 26.

The film, directed by “Superman Returns” director Bryan Singer, also stars Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Terrence Stamp, Christian Berkel and David Schofield. However, even the film’s trailer has received a mixed response, possibly due to Cruise’s choice in playing a German officer with an American accent.

To Help David Beckham, Here Are Photos Of Rex Lee From “Entourage”
Posted in Actor, David Beckham, Entourage, Jermaine Dupri, Party, Rex Lee, Soccer, conman on 30 September 2008

Poor old David Beckham. It seems some scheming conman has taken advantage of the English footballer by pretending to be Rex Lee, the actor that plays the agent’s assistant in “Entourage”. Beckham was at Jermaine Dupri’s birthday party in Chicago when he started chatting with the fake Rex Lee. The New York Daily News goes on to say that Beckham spent a good part of the night in the VIP section with his new friend, an insider said: “It wasn’t the real Rex Lee and Becks brought him into the VIP area and spent the whole night drinking with him”.

Perhaps David Beckham knew the man wasn’t the real Rex Lee and just liked his company? Anyway, to help Mr Posh Spice out, us kind folks at Splash have decided to post some photos of the real actor, so David won’t get duped again. The pictures show Lee at a special premiere of “Entourage” in New York last year.

World’s Greatest Living Scotsman, Sean Connery, Writes A Book
Posted in Actor, Book, James Bond, Scot, Scotland, Scottish, Sean Connery, author, knight, tartan on 27 August 2008

“Highlander” actor Sean Connery, pictured wearing a blazer and tartan scarf, was all smiles as he appeared at a book festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. The former “James Bond” star was clutching a copy of his tome called appropriately, “Being A Scot”. Connery had just celebrated his 78th birthday.

Connery last appeared in a film in 2003, in “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”, although he did provide his instantly recognisable voice for “Sir Billi the Vet” in 2006. However, there are few film fans that would argue that his greatest acting moments were in films such as “Dr No” and “Goldfinger”.

The Perfect Family: Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes And Suri Cruise
Posted in Actor, Actress, Apartment, Child, Daughter, Family, New York, Suri Cruise, Tom Cruise, katie holmes on 15 August 2008

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise took a stroll together in New York and looked the picture of a perfect family. The trio were arriving at their downtown apartment with a throng of photographers waiting for them. “Minority Report” actor Tom was dressed casually in blue jeans and blue shirt whilst Katie seemed to be relaxing from her theater rehearsals in black trousers, white shirt and a carefully placed pashmina (no doubt a style tip from Victoria Beckham).

However, it was the cutest member of the acting family that stood out. Suri, in her red dress, seemed to be full of life and curiosity and will no doubt follow into the acting shoes of her parents. It remains to be seen if the Cruise family plan on having a larger family like fellow acting royalty Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

One For The Ladies And The Hollywood Agents
Posted in Actor, Cell Phone, Coffee, Jeremy Piven on 1 August 2008
Piven proves that men can multi-task too

Actor Jeremy Piven was spotted leaving a coffee shop in Los Angeles. The Emmy award winning star seemed to be occupied talking on his cell, holding his coffee, scratching at his belt and then putting his hand in his pocket. The man is so talented, he didn’t even drop his cell phone or spill his coffee.

Although he may not be handsome in a more traditional sense, I think his charm, talent and wit make up for not looking like Brad Pitt or James Franco. Well, that’s what I tell myself every morning when I look in the mirror.
